Little Sutton Farm is a traditional mixed family run farm growing crops and rearing sheep.
With the farm situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty the farm has been committed to the Shropshire Hills Environmentally Sensitive Areas Scheme since it started in 1994. This is a management agreement designed to protect and enhance the rural landscape. On our farm over 10 kms of hedgerows have been planted or restored and two wildlife pools have been created, further improving the diversity of wildlife on the farm.
Ludlow
Meadow Barn is situated just 5 miles north of the historic town of Ludlow. The castle dominates this medieval market town, often regarded as the finest small town in England. Ludlow cannot fail to impress with its timbered buildings, fine Georgian houses and its famous restaurants. In 2006 Ludlow was voted Britain’s Best Town, beating such picturesque places as Lincoln, York, St Ives and Edinburgh. The castle forms the breathtaking backdrop to Ludlow Festivals flagship outdoor Shakespeare play and the newer Food and Drink Festival, both of which attract visitors from across the world. More info
Church Stretton
Gateway to the Shropshire Hills, Church Stretton’s picturesque setting at the foot of the Long Mynd earned it the name of ‘Little Switzerland’ and provides glorious walking countryside. The National Trust visitor centre in nearby Carding Mill Valley provides car parking and an excellent base for walkers to explore the Long Mynd Hills. More info
Ironbridge Gorge
The World Heritage Site of Ironbridge is undoubtedly one of the glories of Shropshire if not the UK with its dramatic setting in a steep wooded gorge of the River Severn, which makes it a hugely attractive place in which to visit. Not only are there nine museums dedicated to the history of the Industrial Revolution, it is also home to Shropshire’s most famous landmark, the world’s first Iron Bridge. More info
Shrewsbury
Shropshire’s county town is renowned for its medieval buildings including Shrewsbury Abbey and its castle. Combine this with its riverside walks and good shopping facilities it makes for a great day out. More info
